Before using the level, we must first check its usability to see if there are cracks, pores and other defects on the surface of the level, and whether the liquid in the level is clean and transparent. After confirming that the level is intact and usable, we need to calibrate it. The method of calibrating the level ruler is very simple: place the level ruler flat against the wall, draw a line on the wall along the edge of the ruler, and then swap the left and right ends of the level ruler and place it on the originally drawn line. It coincides with the line, and the water in the level pipe of the level is still flat, which means that the level is accurate, otherwise it needs to be corrected.

A spirit level generally has three glass tubes, and each glass tube has a bubble. Place the spirit level on the object to be measured. Which side of the bubble of the spirit level is deviated to indicate that the side is higher. You need to lower the height of that side or increase the height of the opposite side; if the bubble is in the center, it means that the bubble is in the center. The measured object is horizontal in this direction. The horizontal glass tube in the level ruler is used to measure the horizontal plane, the vertical glass tube is used to measure the vertical plane, the other is used to measure the 45-degree angle, and the three blisters are used to check and measure Whether the surface is horizontal, the blisters are in the middle, and the blisters are not horizontal. In addition, according to the principle of two intersecting lines to determine a plane, the level of the plane needs to be measured at two non-parallel positions in the same plane.

The spirit level is very easy to keep. It can be hung somewhere or placed flat on a desk or drawer without affecting its straightness and parallelism. If it is a light-weight aluminum-magnesium level, it is also not easy to rust. During use, the level ruler does not need to be oiled. If it is not used for a long time, lightly coat it with a thin layer of general industrial oil during storage.
